Attorney | Founding Partner

Stacie Sydow is a founding partner at Sydow Leis LLC. Stacie’s legal practice focuses primarily on criminal defense and domestic law. Stacie has vast and successful trial experience in serious and high profile cases. Stacie has jury trial experience ranging from misdemeanor to capital murder cases.

In addition to her criminal law practice, Stacie is an experienced family law attorney. Stacie has been an advocate for many parents during custody/visitation trials, child support cases, contempt proceedings, and many more. Stacie is certified as a Guardian Ad Litem, and has represented many juveniles in delinquency and abuse, neglect, dependency cases.

Stacie is currently a member of the Columbus Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Richland County Bar Association, and Central Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Shannon S. Leis

Partner, Attorney, Former Adjunct Professor of Law

Shannon’s law practice is dedicated to criminal defense. She has jury trial experience in cases ranging from misdemeanor OVI to Murder. Shannon is certified by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the administration of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.

In 2009, Shannon served as co-counsel in State v. Derris Lewis. Mr. Lewis was accused of brutally murdering his twin brother. He was later acquitted of all charges and received a $950,000.00 settlement from the City of Columbus.

In addition, Shannon formerly served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Capital University Law School where she taught Forensic Evidence.

Shannon received the Louisville Slugger Award for outstanding courtroom advocacy from the Central Ohio Association for Justice in 2009. Shannon was named Capital University Law School Young Alumna of the Year in 2010.

Shannon currently serves as the Chairperson of the Criminal Law Committee for the Central Ohio Association for Justice. She has been selected to serve as a speaker at Continuing Legal Education seminars on the subjects of OVI and Trial Skills.

Shannon is also a member of the Columbus Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association, Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and Central Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
