Shannon’s law practice is dedicated to criminal defense. She has jury trial experience in cases ranging from misdemeanor OVI to Murder. Shannon is certified by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the administration of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.

In 2009, Shannon served as co-counsel in State v. Derris Lewis. Mr. Lewis was accused of brutally murdering his twin brother. He was later acquitted of all charges and received a $950,000.00 settlement from the City of Columbus.

In addition, Shannon formerly served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Capital University Law School where she taught Forensic Evidence.

Shannon was named a Top Lawyer by Columbus C.E.O. Magazine in 2015.  In 2014, she received the Clients’ Choice Award from AVVO, and was named Top 40 Under 40 and Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers.  She was named Capital University Law School Young Alumna of the Year in 2010, and received the Louisville Slugger Award for outstanding courtroom advocacy from the Central Ohio Association for Justice in 2009.

Shannon previously served as the Chairperson of the Criminal Law Committee for the Central Ohio Association for Justice. She has been selected to serve as a speaker at Continuing Legal Education seminars on the subjects of OVI, Trial Skills, and Cross Examination involving Forensic Evidence.

Shannon is also a member of the Columbus Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association, Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and Central Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
