On October 1, Stacie Sydow and Shannon Leis began a jury trial where they represented a man charged with 2 counts of Felonious Assault, with multiple specifications, and one count of Tampering with Evidence. A man was shot in the parking lot of an after hours club last year, and the client was charged as the shooter. The State produced witnesses and physical evidence, but the defense team was fully prepared to discredit that evidence. Stacie Sydow delivered her closing argument yesterday and pointed to the inconsistencies of the State’s witnesses (including a security guard and a police officer), and the possibility of another shooter that was never investigated. The jury returned a not guilty verdict that same day.
